Colourful Eye | Morphe X Nikita Artistry Palette

I am going to start this blog post off with I LOVE brown eyeshadow I don't know if it's just me getting older and preferring the less is more approach or what but gone are the days where I would wear a crazy detailed eye with a bold lip. Don't get me wrong I still love artistic makeup for magazine covers etc it's a form of art & love seeing people get creative.

At work we sometimes have themes and this theme was for me to use the Nikita Dragun. If you don't know get to know. So for the first time in a while I got my creative juices flowing. One of my absolute favorite eyeshadow palettes has to be the Morphe x Nikita Collaboration palette.
The palette has the perfect mixture of matte, shimmers, bright & neutral shadows. I don't know how much longer this palette will be on sale so I would definitely get it while you can.

Lash wise I used 'the Katie' from Prima Lash in collaboration with makeup artist Katie Daley which I think did a great job complementing the look because there nice & wispy.

Hope you're all having a great week,

Alannah x

Miss Bikini Ireland | BAMMA - Outfit , Make up , Hair

I actually really liked my outfit for BAMMA in the 3arena last Saturday. Most of the time I wear gym clothes or work clothes(black) so its nice to get to wear something a little fancier (and brighter).

I wasn't looking for a dress because I had a dress that I was going to wear that I got/wore awhile back but when I came across this dress I fell in love .

Its a very simple dress but I like the colour orange(especially with a tan) and the dress was a nice fit .
I got the dress in Topline Main Street Buncrana ,Co.Donegal . I did find it hard getting shoes to go nicely with it but I found these pair in Office and I am a big fan of rose gold. Getting a matching clutch was actually a lot easier then I thought , I got the clutch in Accessorize. The bracelet was a birthday present from Italy & my earrings were from Penneys/Primark.

I was working that day before the event so I had to do my hair & make up before work & get changed in the car on the way to Dublin .Talk about rushed! lol . I opted for a sleek high ponytail with loads of hairspray so it would stay put all day . Make up wise I did my favourite look ,bronze & gold eyes & a nude lip. Urban Decay setting spray and translucent powder where my saviours .

My tan is Bellamianta spray tan done by Jennifer in ' Beauty House' Bridgend , Co.Donegal . It was a lovely golden tan and didn't smell at all .

It was an amazing night and I am so grateful to be apart of it all . After BAMMA some of the Miss Bikini Ireland crew headed into Lillie Bordellos for a few drinks .

The Miss Bikini Ireland gang are all invited to be audience memebers in a new RTE quiz show on Monday so I will keep you all up to date on that .

Eye Strobing | The Lastest Beauty Trend

After the Met Gala I have seen quite a few magazine articles on eye strobing saying its the lastest make up trend seen on celebrities on the red carpet  . Eye strobing as they call it has been used in the make up world for years and is not something that has just recently became a thing . It makes your eyes appear bright ,bigger and more awake .

Strobing is adding highlight to the skin to make certain points of your face stand out , eye strobing is basically the same but on the eyes .  It brightens up the inner corners of your eyes .

This is really flattering especially on people with close set eyes (eyes that are close together) because it gives the illusion of the eyes being wider apart instead of drawing them closer . Victoria Secret Models are forever using this technique because it works really well with glowing skin .

How To :
Using  a white eyeliner pencil (I used Nyx Jumbo Pencil In Milk) apply it to the inner corners of your eyes . With a pearly white(I used Urban Decay eyeshadow in Bootycall) or a light silver eyeshadow apply it using your finger or a small brush on top of the white eyeliner .

Are you  a fan of this look ?

As you can probably tell I am a huge fan .

Thanks For Reading ,

Contouring Made Quick And Easy - Kiko Contouring Pencil Set

Remember those Smashbox contouring sticks that came out awhile back that I included in my make up wish list? Well I didn't get round to buying them but I recently came across those beautiful products  . Smashbox contour sticks retail at £35 and the Kiko contouring pencil £9.90 .

These pencils are very creamy and pigmented . I highlight and contour my usual areas of my face (full blog post here) I blend the contour out with a stippling brush or and angled brush . It blends out really easily then sets and stays put all day . The contour shade is that perfect in between shade of not being too ashy or too warm so it gives definition without your skin looking dull . The highlighter really brightens up the face too. I'm a sucker for cute make up packaging and this rose gold and pink packaging is just beautiful .

Its so handy for anyone in a rush and really compact . If you were in the market for contouring and highlighting products I would buy this over the Smashbox one and save yourself the money .Even though I haven't got the Smashbox highlighting and contouring sticks I can't see how they could make contouring sticks any better then this . I purchased a few other things from Kiko also and there such good quality for the price. Honestly cannot fault this product at all . They are limited edition though so I would advise buying sooner rather then later . The light set is all sold out but I bought the medium to dark set and it still works well on my light skin .

Here's a link to where you can buy them on there website : Click Here

Have any of you tried these contouring pencils yet or the smashbox set ?

Monthly favourites blogpost will be up soon , its hard to believe its nearly September .This year is going so fast .

5 reason you need this eyeshadow colour

Todays Blog post is about my most reached for eye shadow (Inglot Eyeshadow - Matte Brown 342) and who would of thought ? It just looks like a boring old matte brown shadow but trust me you need it. After purchasing the Urban Decay naked 2 palette I realised I was in need of some matte eye shadow for my kit . Too much shimmer eye shadow doesn't look great on older skin as the can sometimes make the wrinkles and fine lines around the eye area more noticeable also you really can go wrong with a matte eye shadow .My friend bought me an Inglot freedom system palette with 3 eye shadows and there was a place for one more eye shadow so when I was in Dublin a while after that I decided to head towards there South Anne Street Inglot store and purchase this eye shadow so that my Inglot palette was complete . Here are 5 reason why I love this eye shadow so much :

1 . The price. €6 ! I personally think its a bargain for the quality and the amount of the eye shadow you get . Mac eyeshadow is €10 and has a lot less product in it .

2 . Works well on every eye colour . Teenagers , Adults , people with green , blue or brown  trust me it will suit you ! Great colour for those who aren't that confident at doing there own make up . Also matte brown will never go out of trend.

3. Its the perfect eye shadow transition colour . Especially with a brown , black or orange smokey eye look. A transition colour is a colour you blend out in the socket line of your eye so you don't have a  harsh lines between your brow bone & your eyeshadow . Your eyeshadow will look well blended and will gradual fade into you skin.

4. Great Eyebrow Colour . Believe or not it works on blondes , light brunettes and red heads . It just depends how lightly or strongly you apply it . I like to use and angled eyebrow brush to apply it and conceal around my eyebrows then to make my eyebrows look more defined .

5. Nicely pigmented . Inglot eyeshadows are probably the most popular product from Inglot because they have a nice texture and are really pigmented . If you don't believe me look up more reviews on there eyeshadows and I am sure they will all say the same.

I have used this eyeshadow in my previous make up looks on my blog , have a look if you want to see this eyeshadow being used .
