What to pick up in France - French Pharmacy Shopping List

One of the first blogs on my blog was about french skincare products from the pharmacy (click here to read it) . Since then I have collected quite a few bits from french pharmacies . I thought since its summer and some of you might be going on holidays to one of my favourite countries France this guide/shopping list will come in handy to any skincare lovers. You can find inexpensive but great quality skincare in france .In no particular order heres a shopping list :

Miceller waters have become really popular lately and this one is the original . Cant beat an original . It had to be included I have gone through three bottles of this stuff . Its just a really great product especially for make up artists because you can remove the clients make up without leaving there skin oily like a lot of make up removers . Your skin feels refreshed after using this . It isn't supposed to replace cleansing and toning though as cleanser and toner work further into the skin and thoroughly remove everything on your face. Its a handy product to have. Works well on all skin types .

In that blog post many moons ago I mentioned that I wasn't the biggest fan of this product and since then I have completely changed my mind . Its such a versatile product you can use it as a toner , on burns , skin irritations , razor burns and it helps soothe the skin . I don't use this product everyday but I do reach for it when I have a breakout , want to remove any oils from my skin or spray it on a cotton pad then rub it over my eyebrows after plucking them to calm down the redness .

Full blog post here . Just something different from whats available here , its a very hydrating matte looking lip balm . It keeps my lips moisturised for hours . It also smells beautiful !

4 . Eau Thermale Avene
I like applying this mask at least once a week for a moisturiser boost . I recommend this for dry to normal skins it nourishes the skin and calms any redness .

5 . Caudalie Beauty Elixir
I really like this product for freshen up my face ,  give my skin a healthy glow or first thing when I wake up in the morning to wake myself up  . The smell is very medicinal . There is a cheaper version of this by Caudalie which skin expert kathryn hirons prefers so I would maybe opt for that version if your on a budget .

6 . La Roche Posay - Effaclar duo
Quite a well known La Roche Posay product . Did not like this at all when I first got it . It has a very pungent lemony , window cleaner smell and I was very hesitant putting it on my skin . One week when I started to get a few breakouts on my chin I took the plunge and applied it on that night .
The next morning  my skin was nearly fully cleared . It made some different . I don't use this product all the time because its more suitable for oily skin but its good on those occasions where you have a bad breakout. On there website it says that it works on sensitive skin which I personally think it wouldn't because of the strong scent in the product .

7 . Peggy Sage Lipsticks
Never heard of this brand but my brother picked them up for me as a gift in Paris . Amazing pigmentation and not drying in the slightest . Love the sleek packaging also . Not positive about the price but I think there relatively cheap  .

8 . Embryolisse  - Lait Creme
Great everyday moisturiser which is featured in lots of make up artists kits . Nice rich moisturiser that hasn't got a scent and works on most skin types. Really inexpensive . I have gone through a few of these .

9. Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S Thirst Quenching Serum
My skin drinks this stuff , literally once I apply it to my skin my skin is like yay . The title of the product the perfect fit. It has a very liquidy texture . Great step for before moisturising for girls that have really dry/ dehydrated skin .

10.Night Moisturizer Cream Crème Prodigieuse
When I got this I literally thought the container was empty . Its so lightweight . The moisturiser itself has a lovely buttery texture and a nice fresh smell like most of Nuxe products . When you wake up in the morning your skin feels ready for the day .I can even go without moisturising the morning after .

So thats it for the french pharmacy shopping list , print this out and take it on your trip . If your not going to France this summer you can always order them online .

Hope everyone is having a nice week .

Favourite Mascara : Maybelline Great Lash Mascara Review

I have bought about 100 tubes of this mascara (maybe a slight exaggeration) but I have bought so many of them I have lost count .

When I was younger I was all into the voluminous(what I thought was voluminous but were really just clumpy looking) and long lashes using mascara primer an several different mascaras . Which is a waste of time and money to be perfectly honest . I am the complete opposite now . I can't stand the feel of clumpy eyelashes , I like a mascara that is very black , that separates & gives length . This mascara does all that.

The wand is my favourite thing about this mascara . Its a nice small so you can get to the inner corner and bottom lashes easily and it distributes the perfect amount of product . If you were to layer this mascara it still wouldn't clump because of the amazing separating wand . The look you will receive with this mascara is really black , separated , long but natural looking eyelashes . If I want more drama I would just use fake eyelashes instead of layering mascara .

The consistency is quite drier then a lot of other mascaras . I prefer this because it doesn't take long to dry and if you have naturally long eyelashes you wouldn't have the problem of your mascara hitting the top of your eyelid and ruining your make up .

So if your like me and hate the feel of clumpy mascara on your eyelashes you'll love this mascara . If you like spidery lashes it probably isn't the mascara for you .  Its perfect for natural everyday wear .

You can buy the mascara here  . At a very reasonable price . I throw out my mascara every few weeks so I can't justify spending €30 on a mascara .

Have you tried this mascara ? If so what are your thoughts on it ?

Colourful Winged Eyeliner

Can you tell I'm a fan of blue eyeliner ? Winged eyeliner is one of the staple things I do in my everyday make up look . Lately I have been trying to incorporate more colour into my everyday make up  . I wanted something not to drastic but different . I went for my usual winged eyeliner except this time in a different colour . I went for blue . I used a water activated face paint to create both looks above but Inglot and Urban Decay also have some fun coloured eyeliners . Even if you have an eyeshadow or pigment that you like the colour of you could mix it with some Inglot duraline to make your own coloured eyeliner . Its a fun simple way to switch up your make up .

Hope you all enjoyed this blogpost . There will be another blog post coming later this week so don't forget to check back .

Are you a fan of this colourful make up ? Comment below your thoughts and any other questions you may have .

Smokey Winged liner & a red lip (Video Tutorial)

I'm back ! This time with a video tutorial . I love writing the blog tutorials but I think most people including myself find it easier to learn by video , so here it is my first youtube tutorial .

Side Note : I hate my nails , colour and shape I felt like a eagle or some sort of bird. I stuck them on a few minutes before the video and regret it straight away haha .

Step By Step

Step 1 : I moisturised my skin .

Step 2 : I primed my eyelids .

Step 3 : I then got some black eyeshadow and an angled eyeliner brush . I created a wing the way I would with normal eyeliner but it does not to be perfect because you will be smoking it out anyway .

Step 4 :I added some more black eyeshadow and blend it out again .

Step 5 : I then tidied up my wings with a cotton bud and some make up remover .

Step 6 : To make the eyeliner a little more defined and polished looking I added some liquid liner .

Step 7 : Next I did my eyebrows by brushing them up then across to get the shape . I then applied an eyebrow gel with and angled brush . I started at the outer part of my eyebrow and worked my way to the front of my eyebrow . I lightly applied the eyebrow gel to the front of my eyebrows for a more natural look . To evenly distrubt the eyebrow gel throughout my eyebrows I lightly brushed them again.

Step 8 : I then applied some concealer under my eyes .

Step 9 : Using a light brown eyeshadow I blended it out on my bottom lash line .

Step 10 : I applied my foundation using a stippling brush .

Step 11 : I set my foundation to keep it in place all day .

Step 12 : I then went ahead and highlighted the tops of my cheekbones ,my cupids bow (centre of your top lip) and the tip of my nose .

Step 13 : I applied some blush to the apples of my cheeks .

Step 14 : To warm up my skin I applied some warm toned bronzer.

Step 15 : I lined my lips with a red lipliner then filled it in using a matte red lipstick .

Step 16 : After I did that I applied some mascara to my top and bottom lashes  .

Step 17 : I went in with the brown eyeshadow I used on my bottom lash line and blended it out in my crease using a fluffy blending brush.

Step 18 : Using a damp eyeshadow brush I packed on some gold eyeshadow to the inner part of my eyelid .

Step 19 : I highlighted my inner tear duct with a pearlescent white to brighten up my eyes .
